Women who received no deliverance – WHY?

Several women asked for Deliverance ministry. Each one had a mixture of the desires to be a missionary, a street-type preacher, and a Bible teacher or to be in the pulpit in some position of authority.  All had one thing in common - they were not part of a body ministry and were not under any authentic male spiritual covering. They were living and functioning like “lone-rangers”. Their lives were in confusion, there were serious health issues, there was disorder, their emotional state was unsteady, they had failed marriages or current marriage problems and “their ministries” are totally out of godly order.

Does God love them? Absolutely. Even though they were not following clear instructions in the Word of God about how a women is to function in godly order.

Each woman made one or more of the following statements

·       But what about all those “lost souls” out there? Who will save them?

·       Most men are not doing the work of salvation so somebody has to step in.

·       God “told me to do this and I am just being obedient”.

·       A prophet spoke over me and said, “This is your ministry”. Do it.

·       I know I am called by God to be a missionary to foreign countries.

·       Going to Bible College so I can teach others about God and His Word.

·       Jesus is my “covering”. I don’t need a man ruling over me.

·       My husband left me so now I have to do ministry by myself.

·       I was abused as a child. Now I must tell people how to get free.

·       The apostle Paul was prejudiced about women in ministry. I am not.

·       Many men think they are the only ones who can do ministry.

·       Do you believe that men are the only ones to be in the pulpit?

·       I’m not in the pulpit, so what is wrong with my teaching others?

·       I’m not rebelling against the Bible. God knows “my heart”.

·       I have no husband, I have no one to submit to, God is using me.

·       My church allows women to teach and be in the pulpit.

·       Deborah was a prophetess, so I can be one also.

·       What about the 4 daughters of Phillip? They gave prophecies.

·       I’m not contending with the Bible. Men are just prejudiced.

·       I lay hands on others and they get healed. See how God uses me.

·       I work with a group of women in ministry. We don’t need a man.

·       I stop in Wal-Mart and start praying for women of other faiths.

·       The Internet is a great tool for me to witness to the lost.

·       Some women are TV-evangelists. What’s wrong with that?

WHY? Why didn’t these women receive deliverance from the curses and demons that have them in bondage? God is merciful. He wants people to be free, right? Why no deliverance for these women?

Deliverance requires submission to God, a conscious choice to forgive everybody for everything, a repentant attitude and a desire to let the Holy Spirit make changes in one’s lifestyle: a renewing of the mind (Rom 12:1-2). Issues of bitterness and resentment must be dealt before deliverance. Is the person bitter towards God? All bitterness is always towards God. The person must believe that God is sovereign in all things (Rom 9:18-21).

God has a definite place for women in the church body but never in any position of leadership. God’s word gives these instructions to all women:

·       1 Timothy 2:11-12 – “A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet”.

·       Ephesians 5:22-24, 31, 33 – “Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to our Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church. He Himself being the Savior of the body. (31) For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. (33) Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband”.

·       Colossians 3:18 – “Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord”.

·       Titus 2:3-5 – “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored”.

The issues of rejection, abandonment and rebellion are the reasons many women want to be in ministry. Some women want a position of authority in the pulpit. The woman who truly trusts God will submit herself to the Lord and His word. If she has no husband to submit to then she places herself in a body of believers that has a strong, spiritually minded, God-focused male leader. Any woman who submits to God’s ways and godly order will find peace and joy beyond measure.

Any woman who finds herself in bondage to demons and curses, and is struggling to find freedom, needs to examine her attitude toward God and obedience to His word. She needs to get into godly order, repent of her rebellion against godly authority, get out of “her ministry” and rest in Jesus.

Real deliverance will follow in God’s timing.
