Sammy B - Grandfather’s Voodoo “Word Curse” Broken

Sammy, age 42, prison inmate, asked for Deliverance ministry. His life had a “dark cloud” over it and strange feelings plagued him daily. He could not understand his situation for he was a believer in Jesus Christ, loved the Lord, but the problems would not go away. Most advice given him was the usual “just pray about it”, “Christ did it all at the Cross, don’t worry”, or “no such things as curses can affect you for Christ became a curse for you”, none of which solved his problems. No relief from the pains and strange feelings came. Sammy was hurting and asking … WHY GOD? Why do I hurt so much? Can anyone help me? WHY?

10 minutes into the ministry session Sammy stated that all of his siblings (7) were in prison or had done prison time, he wondered why this had happened to all of them. He had no answers and was given no answers. Further discussion revealed a family history of involvement in Voodoo and witchcraft by the family in Louisiana. Then the Lord gave a vision (word of knowledge ) to the minister about a small man, late 70’s, wearing spats, a gold watch chain in his belt/vest, dark suit, gold-tipped walking cane. Sammy was asked … “who is the person?”. He was startled and said,  “oh my, that is my grandfather, who was a womanizer, drug user and ‘man about town’ type, involved in Voodoo and witchcraft while living in Louisiana. Years ago Sammy heard his grandfather make the statement that “EACH ONE OF MY GRANDCHILDREN WILL DO PRISON TIME”.

Guess what? Each grandchild did prison time and suddenly Sammy saw the seriousness of the power of words his grandfather had spoken and the horrible prophetic curse (statement) made over the grandchildren.

Sammy asked the Lord to forgive his grandfather. Sammy forgave him also. Sammy entered into a prayer to break and release himself from the curse spoken over his life. The Lord heard the prayer, the power of the Holy Spirit filled the room, all 3 people involved knew that the word curse was broken over Sammy and he was free from the curse. To see the godly peace come over Sammy was wonderful. He left the ministry session a new person, freed and filled with hope that his life was no longer cursed by what his grandfather had spoken many years before.

Sammy had done nothing wrong. He was in no way responsible for the curse that had come on him. He had not been taught about Deliverance Ministry, how Jesus spent much of His ministry time healing people, casting out demons and breaking curses. Spoken words have awesome power…whether positive or negative. Sammy now knew that he knew the power of words, he saw it demonstrated in his own life. His faith and trust in the Lord grew mightily from that day forward. Words curses are real … Sammy would tell you if you could ask him.

If you have “clouds of doubt” and “strange feelings” in your life perhaps there is a Word Curse at work that you need to deal with. Ask God in humility and He will show you. The ministry of deliverance works. Jesus is the deliverer. He delivered Sammy, He will deliver you.
