How Can You Have Peace and Intimacy With God

God uses everything in our lives to draw us for relationship with Him: He often lets the flow of life, with it’s inevitable problems, take it’s course until we cry out to Him, seeking comfort and answers.

Then He draws us for relationship ( see personal testimony in pervious ARTICLE “Does God Really Love You” ) MATTHEW 11:28-30…”Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened and I will give you rest…”

First, He promises to give us rest, peace. Then He invites us to be yoked with Him, to find secure direction for our lives… JOHN 16:33

In the course of that flow, the Lord Jesus invites us for the Holy Spirit baptism, a deeper and more intimate communication with Him.

ACTS 2 – Jesus is the baptizer – vs. 33 – who desires us to have the Holy Spirit – with evidence of speaking in tongues and the giftings.

1 COR 12 – for discussion of the giftings

1 COR 13 – hearing from God for our own personal direction and for    the benefit of the Body of believers. IT is essential to be knit in to a Body so the giftings flow for the benefit of all.

1 COR 12:12,7 – manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (vs 25 … “that there be no division in the Body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.”

All of this brings a flow of peace and intimacy with God into the life of a believer.

PSA 68:6 – God promises to “make a home for the lonely,” to “set the solitary in families.”

If your heart’s desire is to be knit in to a Body of believers where the giftings flow, seek the Lord for the fulfillment of this promise.

PSA 20:4 …”May He grant you your heart’s desire.”
